When the underground pipeline crosses high-voltage power lines it is required to assess the corrosive effect of the electromagnetic field of power lines on the pipeline and if necessary to provide mitigating measures. Existing evaluation techniques in Russia do not consider all the factors that significantly affect the value of the current density at a holiday in the protective coating of the pipeline, which is the main indicator of the corrosive effect of power line on a pipeline. The main factors must be considered when determining the level of corrosive effect of power line on a pipeline are analyzed in the paper.

» Special aspects in developing of the diagnostic provision system for safe operation of wells by Gazprom OJSC at developing Northern depositsOpen PDF
The approaches are proposed to developing the diagnostic provision system for safe operation of wells by Gazprom OJSC when developing Northern deposits. The approach was developed to accumulating the databases on the technical condition of wells with their subsequent analysis and estimation based on the DCS Infoteck data collection system. The analyses of results by averaged indicators of string and cement stone bonding, cement stone and rock bonding depending on the well cementing work performers, the work completion year, the work performance season (month) are provided. The domestic thermometric systems based on the optic fiber technologies with the temperature measurement accuracy of 0.1 С were proposed for implementation.

Valves are a part of the gas transportation system, therefore, operational reliability and safety of any facility of the main gas pipeline largely depends on failure-free valves operation. The total number of valves of 50–1,400 mm rated diameter currently installed at the field production, transportation and storage sites exceeds 500 thousand units of various kinds, types and manufacturers. This article covers the topical issues on testing, adjustment, operation and evaluation of the valves technical condition, including tightness, at the gas industry facilities.

Modern field piping systems are being operated under stringent requirements for ensuring industrial and environmental safety, which necessitates maintaining high level of piping reliability and ensuring failure-free operation of the piping systems. Corrosion, metallurgical and construction and installation works-relevant defects are major contributors to the accidents and incidents occurring in the Russian pipeline transportation system. Smart pigging is one of the major methods enabling full identification of the pipeline technical condition, potentially hazardous sections and local points of corrosion damage to piping.

» Identification, assessment and prioritization of the pipeline integrity damage riskOpen PDF
This article is continuation of the series of publications started in No. 9, 10 and 11 of NEFTEGAS Territory in 2013. Previous articles [1, 2, 3] described the life-cycle stages of the oil and gas deposit infrastructure, stating that «maintenance/ integrity management (IM)» is the most transparent in terms of cost substantiation and efficiency assessment as compared to such lines as «development» and «optimization» from amongst all lines of infrastructure investments. The key performance indicators of infrastructure maintenance costs were proposed as well, showing that the major line of the IM performance management is the identification, assessment and prioritization of the integrity damage risk. The principles for formation of the costs for IM with application of the standard are set forth on the basis of the risk-oriented approach. Fully-featured IM is impossible without identification system, risk prioritization assessment. This article contains description and study cases of application of risk assessment system for the most common, problematic and expensive in terms of safe operation of oil and gas deposit facilities – oilfield pipelines (OFP). For managers and oil engineers engaged in design and operation of surface oilfield and other infrastructure facilities, specialists in risk assessment, industrial safety and environment protection, technical and economic assessment of the assets.

» Object-oriented method of lithological-facies model of hydrocarbon depositsOpen PDF
Object-oriented method of constructing detailed lithofacies models solves the problems of simulating different types of hydrocarbon reservoirs, including the structurally complex. Information databases have been formed for each stage of simulating, which perform base for models building, where the most informative are lithological and petrographic parameters which are strongly related to reservoir parameters, productivity and genesis. This method has been tested in the fields such as Pestsovoe (layer BU9), Yen-Yakhinskoe (layers BU12, BU11, BU10, BU8–9), Zapolyarnoe (BT8, BT7, BT6), North-Purovskoe ( BU18–BU16).

The article discusses the issue of pipelines calculation for strength and reliability (safety, service life duration). It was proved that transition from strength margin to serviceability margin enables to calculate the pipelines being designed and operated for both strength and reliability. The article is aimed at improving of construction standards and rules, as well as regulatory documents for technical operation and repair of existing pipelines.

» Calculation of stressed deformed state of gas pipeline during overhaul with application of re-used pipesOpen PDF
The article considers computation of stressed deformed state during installation of gas pipeline from re-used pipes with application of finite element method (FEM) with various locations of pipe layers and machines included in service string. The basic process parameters are determined for installation during lifting and displacement of the pipeline towards the edge of the trench, as well as stresses at the points of gas pipeline support with various number of pipe layers at different lift height.
