All scientific articles received by the editorial staff of the journal pass through obligatory double-blind peer review, which means that the information about the authors of the articles are not disclosed to the reviewers, and vice versa, the authors of the articles do not receive any information about the reviewers and the review process.
The articles are reviewed by the members of the editorial staff, as well as the invited reviewers, the leading specialists of Russian and international industrial universities. The Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Chief Editor invite the reviewers for the article analysis. The period of review process is less than 2–4 weeks and can be extended on reviewer's request. The reviewer has a right to refuse preparation of a review in the case of the obvious conflict of interest obstructing on perception and interpretation of the manuscript
Based on the results of the manuscript review, the reviewer gives one of the following reasonable conclusions:
• the article is recommended for publication without revision;
• the article is recommended for publication after all changes will be made according to the reviewer's comments;
• the article needs additional review by another reviewer;
• the article cannot be published in the journal (the refusal).
If a review includes some recommendations for correction and revision of the article, the editorial staff of the journal sends the text with review to the author advising him/her to take into account the recommendations when preparing a new version of the article, or disprove them (partially or fully) specifying the reason.
The article revision should not take more than 2 months from the date of sending the e-mail to the authors about the necessity to make changes. The article revised by the author is sent for review once more.
If the author refuses to revise the article, he or she should notify in writing the editorial staff about the refusal to publish the article.
If the authors do not return the revised manuscript after 3 months from the date of the review sending, the editorial staff removes the article from the list, even no information on refusal from revision was received from the authors. Then, the relevant notice about the manuscript removal from the list due to expiration of time allowed for revision is sent to the authors.
If there are some insoluble contradictions on manuscript between the author and reviewers, the editorial staff is entitled to send it for additional review. In conflict situations, the decision is maken by the editorial staff.
The decision on manuscript publication refusal is taken by the editorial staff in accordance with the reviewers' recommendations. If the article is not recommended by the editorial staff for publications, it is not accepted for another review. The author is informed about the publication refusal via e-mail.
Deciding to accept the article to publication, the editorial staff it informs the author about that, specifying the terms of publication.
A positive review is not a sufficient reason for the article publication. Final decision on publication is taken by the editorial staff. In the case of conflict situations, the decision is taken by the Editor-in-Chief.
The journal reviews all materials received by the editorial staff that conform to its subject for the purposes of their expertise. All reviewers are acknowledged experts as regards the subject of materials reviewed and have publications on the topic of the article reviewed over the last 3 years. The reviews are kept by the publisher in the editorial office of Oil and Gas Territory (Territorija NEFTEGAS) and Gas Industry (Gazovaya Promyshlennost') journals within 5 years.
Upon review receipt the editorial staff send the the review copies or reasoned refusal to the authors of submitted manuscripts. Moreover, if the editorial staff receives the relevant request, it is obliged to send review copies to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The review originals are stored by the editorial staff of the journal within 3 years.
The articles that were published in other periodicals before are not accepted for review by the editorial staff.

If the editor feels your article is more suitable in one of our other participating journals, then you may be asked to consider transferring the article to one of them. If you agree, the article will be transferred automatically, without any reformatting.
